What is the Arizona Bicycle Club?

The Arizona Bicycle Club (ABC) is an organization which for over 30 years has served to improve the quality of life in Arizona by supporting bicycling. Through advocacy, education, and organized rides, tours, and events, ABC emphasizes the positive effects of the bicycle in providing transportation, recreation, sportsmanship, and good health. Affiliated with the League of American Bicyclists, the Arizona Bicycle Club is effective in advocating the use of bicycles as a non-polluting means of travel, and in protecting the rights of Arizona cyclists to safely share our roads and paths with other users, and to increase the bicycle-friendliness of our state's highways and byways.
The officers and board members of the Arizona Bicycle Club are an all-volunteer group, committed to the growth and improvement of bicycling. All meetings of the Club membership and board are open to the public, and ABC actively solicits input from all concerned individuals in club management and operations.
The Arizona Bicycle Club sponsors over 400 different bicycle rides per year. Every Sunday morning, cyclists meet at 5 or 6 different locations in the metropolitan Phoenix area for breakfast rides. These no-charge (except for breakfast) rides attract hundreds of cyclists every week. ABC also sponsors fully supported overnight tours throughout the year along many scenic Arizona highways and trails, and works with charitable agencies to support large fund-raising bicycle events which help Arizona communities. Helmets are required for all ABC sanctioned events.

Meetings of the Board of Directors of the Arizona Bicycle Club are held every first Wednesday of each month at 7:00 PM at the

Amerischool located at 1333 W Camelback Rd. Phoenix Az 85013. All members and interested members of the public are welcome to attend. The November meeting of the ABC Board is the Annual Meeting of the Club. At this meeting, the members of the Club elect members of the Board of Directors to serve in future terms. All ABC members are strongly urged to attend this meeting and take part.
